DIGITAL BASEBALL CARDS
Baseball Card Platform is a blockchain based collectible platform, allowing users to own unique copies of digital baseball cards, with the ownership information stored on the Ethereum network. Digital collectible users throughout the world can buy, sell and exchange blockchain powered digital baseball cards.
CryptoKitties launched in early December 2017 and introduced a concept of digital scarcity bringing a new class of collectibles into the world. The global market has shown large interests trading this new class, with $18 million in trading volume during the first two months. More and more new collectibles have appeared since (Etherbots, CrytpoCelebrities, CryptoPunks, CryptoTulips etc. - and a dozen more, you can find more of them at https://opensea.io/assets). Blockchain based collectibles is a growing market and could have a significant place in the global market in the future.
OpenSea: a crytpo collectible marketplace
The digital baseball card trading platform was built on ERC 721, which allows non-fungible tokens to be created. Non-fungible tokens allow collectibles to hold unique and intrinsic value because tokens are not equal to its counterparts. In contrast, ERC-20 and ERC-223 standards have a supply of tokens that are fungible (single unit of that token is equal to another unit).
On our baseball card trading platform, users can exchange their collectibles in a peer-to-peer manner. Users can buy, and sell their digital baseball cards through Metamask, with their proof of ownership reflected through their Ethereum address. If you would like to learn more about this project, our team would be happy to walk you through a demo.
Baseball Card Collectibles built on ERC 721
The benefits of building digital collectibles on ERC 721 include proof of ownership, provenance, authentication and reduced possibilities for forgery. Compared to traditional collectibles, collectors have access to a new type of digital asset that's more transparent, decentralized, secure and trustworthy.
